The Mayans Were Wrong

As we're all familiar, the Mayan calendar ended in December of 2012.  After my run in shorts and a t-shirt on a 50 degree January day, I'm convinced it will end much sooner.  In the meantime, I need to get my butt in gear as the marathon is fast approaching.  Yesterday, I did a 5 mile loop that has become my regular route.  Half of the loop is on the Rail Trail bike path and the other half is on back roads through Groton farmland.  It's a nice loop that me and my blonde training partner have come to enjoy.  I'm lucky to have found a training partner to endure these difficult winter runs with me.  As I mentioned, she is a gorgeous, fit young woman who is also new to Groton.  She claims to originally be from Newfoundland but I think she's European because she insists on running topless.  It's especially strange because most people with 8 nipples would be shy about running topless.  Anyhow, when I'm having difficulty motivating, I just ask her if she's up for a run.  Here is what it usually looks like:

I'm doing my first "long" run today - 10 miler in Groton.  I'll post tonight with updates.
